Welcome to our page!
We are passionate about nurturing and inspiring children through yoga and arts & crafts. Here you can explore our program in detail and discover the enriching experiences we offer for children from ages 3 up to 12. Our goal is to foster a supportive and engaging experience where your child can learn and thrive.
Our Program
Yoga + Arts & Crafts
Yoga
We offer 30-minute yoga sessions for children, designed to reduce stress and promote emotional self-regulation. Each class provides a safe and supportive space where kids can explore a variety of themes, yoga postures, and breathing exercises, fostering both physical and emotional well-being
About our classes
Art & Crafts
Crafts are the perfect complement to yoga, adding a creative dimension to the second half of class. Engaging in hands-on art projects helps calm busy minds and encourages self-expression. In every session, children explore a new project using simple, affordable materials, sparking their imagination and enhancing their sense of accomplishment.
Yoga Postures
Breathing
Relaxation
Meditation
Our classes are dynamic and creative, designed to engage children in a fun and balanced way. With a capacity of 12 students, we offer a 30-minute yoga session followed by 30 minutes of Arts & Crafts. This format keeps children engaged and curious for longer periods, offering a well-rounded experience. It also provides a supportive space for more introverted students to express their emotions through art, helping to develop social skills and problem-solving abilities.
All activities are carefully designed to be age-appropriate, taking into account children’s cognitive milestones and physical needs. During the first 30 minutes of yoga, kids will explore poses using props like yoga blocks, balance disks, hula hoops, cones, yoga cards, and stretching straps to enhance their practice. In the second half of the class, children will engage in a simple, mindful arts project, offering them a creative and calming way to express themselves.

How the combination Yoga & Crafts works?
Without a dynamic and creative approach, children can lose their interest quickly. After about 20 minutes of physical practice, it's natural for kids to lose focus. That’s why it’s crucial to introduce a variety of activities and resources to keep them engaged.
Each class I design is unique, featuring new themes, games, storytelling, and music to create a fresh and exciting atmosphere.
Crafts play a vital role in this mix. When kids tap into their creativity through hands-on projects, they shift their focus and learn through practical experience. Crafting helps them express emotions, build social skills, and boost their confidence. It’s a highlight of every session—kids eagerly anticipate exploring a new craft project, making it an essential part of their yoga journey.
Yoga for After Schools
In today’s fast-paced world, children often struggle with stress and anxiety as they juggle packed busy schedules of activities and short time to relax and recharge. Yoga offers them a valuable opportunity to pause, breathe, and reconnect with their bodies and minds.
Incorporating yoga into after-school programs benefits both students and educators. Through simple postures and effective breathing techniques, children learn to slow down, practice mindfulness, and develop a deeper sense of self-awareness. These exercises enhance focus, boost concentration, and foster relaxation, building emotional resilience. Ultimately, yoga provides children with lifelong tools to support their well-being and academic success in a holistic and nurturing way.
Bennefits of Yoga for Children
Yoga provides children with a wealth of benefits, helping them manage stress and develop emotional self-regulation. Regular practice fosters emotional growth while improving body awareness, balance, and coordination.
By teaching children how to breathe mindfully, they gain essential tools to handle intense emotions with greater ease. Each session incorporates fun, engaging exercises inspired by the sounds of animals and nature. These playful activities not only capture their imagination but also equip them with practical techniques they can rely on throughout their lives.
Age Groups
Preeschoolers
3 to 6
Young students are naturally energetic and tend to focus on a single yoga posture for only 1 to 2 minutes. In a typical class, they can perform 4 to 5 simple, gentle postures and practice 2 to 3 types of breathing exercises. Given that their bones are still developing, it’s essential to prioritize safety and minimize the risk of injury.
While they have plenty of energy, they can tire quickly, so it’s important to keep the class dynamic. A variety of activities and imaginative storytelling are key to holding their attention and sparking creativity. Crafts complement their learning by offering a hands-on, practical experience that reinforces the themes explored in class.
Elementaries
6 to 12
Elementary students are brimming with energy and tend to have greater endurance. At this stage, their bodies are more robust, and they’re eager to take on more complex yoga postures. However, they may not yet fully understand the risks of attempting challenging poses, such as inversions, without proper preparation.
My focus is on helping them build a strong foundation by strengthening their muscles, improving balance, and enhancing cognitive skills. I emphasize that yoga is not about high performance or competition. Instead, it’s a powerful practice that unites body and mind through postures, breathing, and relaxation. This holistic approach fosters physical and mental well-being, offering lifelong tools for resilience and health.

"We have had a wonderful experience working with Upside Down Yoga Kids as an after-school vendor at Presidio Knolls School. Patricia shows great care in creating engaging and fun classes for our students"! Olivia Sorells
Upside Down Yoga Kids was the highlight of our son's year. Patricia is absolutely great with kids. She can catch their attention and quickly make it fun to practice yoga. Our son quickly learned some breathing exercises which have helped him to remain s calm and focused whenever he needs to - he is only two! It is fascinating to see a kid get interested in doing downward-facing dog and breathing in motions at such a young age. Couldn't recommend Patricia's classes enough.
