Upside Down Yoga Kids care for those who care for children

Updated: Dec 30, 2024

In 2025, we are expanding our offerings by introducing Kundalini Yoga practices for school educators. Our company is dedicated to helping children through yoga, but we understand that different demands exist in schools. I am always flexible and willing to assist in meeting those needs.

I work with passion and purpose, and I want to go where my work and presence are welcomed. I have received a lot of mental clarity through my yoga practice; it is only natural to desire to share something I trust and love to benefit others.”

I have been studying and teaching this yoga practice since 2013, specializing in Stress Management and Meditation Techniques. I taught Kundalini Yoga for seven years at Atelier Experience in Brazil and have also had the opportunity to teach a few classes at the Kundalini Yoga Center in San Francisco. After relocating to the United States, I decided to undergo a second Yoga teacher training through Yoga Alliance, where I also specialized in teaching children.

“I know from practical experience that working with children can be stressful.” Educators spend long hours, which can overwhelm their nervous systems. Teachers face tight schedules and often have no time to connect with their inner selves to find balance. Kundalini Yoga will serve as an oasis amidst chaos, offering teachers a moment to quickly recharge their nervous systems and reset their energy. This ancient form of yoga, often referred to as the "Yoga of Awareness," incorporates postures, breathwork, and mantras to foster mental clarity and emotional balance.

As a teacher, I reproduce the kriyas, which are the sequences of postures, breathing, and mantras. The purity of these teachings promotes results, and I serve as an instrument to transmit this knowledge.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is a practice that aims to awaken the Kundalini energy believed to reside at the base of the spine. Founded by Yogi Bhajan in the late 1960s, it combines physical exercises (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and chanting (mantras) to create a holistic approach to enhancing physical and mental well-being.

“People either love or don’t love this yoga practice. It’s a unique experience that will help you move your energy. Those who have never practiced yoga may find this approach a little different at first. It requires time to get into the flow. I recommend attending at least three classes without judgment to fully understand each experience. Every class offers students a different personal journey. This practice encourages you to look inward and discover more about yourself.”

Benefits of Kundalini Yoga

  • Stress Reduction: The combination of breath and movement helps to alleviate stress and tension in the body quickly.

  • Enhanced Focus: Regular practice improves concentration and clarity of thought, essential for caregivers managing children’s needs.

  • Emotional Balance: This practice fosters emotional resilience, helping teachers connect with their inner selves and enhancing overall well-being.

Supporting Teachers and Implementing Meditation in Schools

Recognizing educators' challenges while working long hours with young children, we aim to implement Kundalini Yoga practices in schools. “By incorporating a consistent yoga and meditation program into school curriculums, we strive to reduce stress among educators. When teachers take this time for themselves, they rejuvenate their energy and model healthy practices for the children in their care.

My Yoga Journey

From a young age, I struggled with anxiety. I first encountered yoga in 2011 when I lost a loved one and found it difficult to sleep without medication. This painful stage of my life led me to my first yoga class, where I finally felt at home and peace.

I began with Hatha yoga and later explored Ashtanga, but I fell in love when I tried my first Kundalini Yoga class. The beauty of the mantras and the peace that the practices brought me immense comfort. I have not stopped practicing and teaching since. I taught Kundalini Yoga for seven years at Atelier Experience, in Brazil. where I also volunteered At Fazenda Sr Jesus - Servos in Brazil to help women struggling with drug addiction. I also implemented breathwork and meditation practices to support their families in AA and Narcotics.

I specialize in Stress Management, Mindfulness, and Meditation. Since relocating to the United States, I completed a second teacher training with Yoga Alliance, further deepening my understanding and practice. I truly believe in the power of Kundalini Yoga and its ability to support others.

As we look toward 2025, we are committed to providing resources and support, including workshops, classes, and materials designed to enhance your experience and well-being. Together, we can cultivate an environment where both caregivers and children thrive. Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities to deepen your practice and integrate these invaluable lessons into your daily life.
